Physical: India is a
subcontinent with an area of 3.3 million km2, separated from the
mainland by himalayas asia and surrounded by the Eastern Bay of
Bengal, Ara-bian Sea to the west and the Indian Ocean to the south.
India is a republic with 25 states and seven territories. It has
achieved its independence on August 15, 1947.
Population: India is a country with a great mix of five major
races: australóide, mongolóide, europóide, cau-casus and negroid.
This is due to a different period of history, India has had
successive invasions including drávidas, ários, the Parties, Greeks
and Asians. Currently it has about one million inhabitants.
Language: India has 15 languages and 844 dialects thereby giving
rise to new languages. The Hindu is the |

national language spoken by about 45% of
the population. It is also used English as the official language of
communication.
The national symbols of India are:
National Flag: The flag was designed as a symbol of freedom and
their colors mean: the saffron color re-presents the courage,
sacrifices and spirit of resignation, the white represents purity
and truth, the green re-presents the faith and fertility.

National Flower: Lotus: The lotus
flower is an aquatic plant, admired for its beauty, a delight for
the eyes as they open their buttons on the surface of the water. In
India, the sacred lotus is legendary in which is built around very
religious folklore and mythology.
